Landing Pages: Why You Need One
A landing page is a simple page that sits in front of your main website. This can easily be your “home” or your “front” page. Or if you like, it could be an entirely new website with just the landing page and then a redirect to your other website.
The main purpose of a lead landing page, (or squeeze, opt-in is to capture your prospects information. Unfortunately this simple, yet productive tool isn’t used by a majority of online marketers. One reason is that they don’t know enough about them or perhaps think that they don’t have the tech skills needed. All you need is the webpage and a decent autoresponder. This enables you to send them information as soon as they confirm their email.
Building a relationship with your prospects is a much better choice of action. Did you know that the average person will need to see you or your offer over 25 times before they are even comfortable making a purchase from you? How often do you think that they actually remember to come back to your site, once, twice, maybe. But 25 times? Hardly. Statics show that very few people make a purchase on their first visit. It’s actually around .02%! They don’t know you and they don’t trust you~yet.
In using a squeeze page you can offer them valuable information in exchange for their name and email. Then you start building a relaitonship with them over a period of time. Increasing the amount of time that they see you and your product! You market to them with your newsletters, e-zines, your goal at this point is to keep your name in front of them.
Some concepts to keep in mind is to remember to offer them something of value in exchange for their contact information. And always remember to tell them why they need this information. If you can, include a video on this page so your prospects can get to know you just a little better. This branches into other points of the layout that we can’t get into in this article.
Other than that, keep it simple! Some experts recommend just asking for their e-mail. The less they have to fill out, the more likely they will put the information in. Keep notes on the different landing pages that you see, and get ideas for your page. Don’t be afraid, do some research and apply this tool as quickly as you can. Other wise you are just letting potential leads get away!
